Italian Army Zip Lines – Infantry School

Replacement and installation of new zip lines at the Italian Army Infantry School

The setting

At the Italian Army Infantry School in Cesano (Rome), we carried out a technical modernization project on two military training towers. The intervention involved the complete replacement of the existing zip lines, with the aim of adapting the structures to the Army's new operational and training needs, while simultaneously improving safety, performance, and reliability during training phases. The two towers, approximately 15 meters high, are now connected by zip lines 110 and 150 meters long, designed to withstand intense stress and guarantee the highest level of stability in all conditions of use.

Our solution

The new zip lines were constructed using 16 mm diameter galvanized steel cables, with a 245-wire structure and 35x7 construction, a configuration that ensures maximum stability, flexibility, and resistance to torsion during use. Each cable is rotation-resistant, externally compacted, and internally plastic-coated, features that improve durability, reduce wear, and increase operational safety during military training phases. The project, carried out in close collaboration with the technical staff of the Infantry School, allowed for the update and enhancement of an infrastructure of fundamental importance for the training and operational efficiency of the Armed Forces. The result is a renovated facility, in line with the most modern standards of safety and mechanical reliability, capable of effectively supporting the military training activities of the Cesano facility.

The result

The work was completed in October 2025.
